Bicycle Aurora
Our Mission

To promote the implementation of bicycle trails in Aurora according to the Aurora Bike Plan.

To study and recommend future improvements to the Aurora Bike Plan.
To lobby public and private groups to adopt and implement the Aurora Bike Plan.
To rally Aurora citizens and groups to promote the Aurora Bike Plan.
To advise Aurora City Government on ways to make bicycle trails in Aurora safer and friendlier for all citizens.
To introduce citizens to the existing and planned Aurora bicycle trail system.



Club meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month (except December) at 6:30 PM in the 4th Floor Eagle Room,  Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Pkwy -- Aurora, CO 80012. All bicycle riders and enthusiasts are welcome. Saturday, July 11th, 9am, Jewel Wetlands - 16 miles

Tour along Highline Canal and Westerly Creek Trail including a trip around Jewel Wetlands.

Saturday, July 18th, 9am, Alchemy Bikes - 18 miles

Alchemy Bicycle Factory and Showroom is located just off the Cherry Creek Trail in Denver and is a pleasant stop on a warm Summer morning.

Saturday, July 25th, 9am, Cherry Creek Reservoir - 16 miles

Ride along long-awaited Cherry Creek Trail connection under Arapahoe Road.  Note: this ride meets at Cornerstar in the parking lot just east of Panera Bread.  Click here for the location.

Saturday, August 1st, 9am, Geocache Ride - 10 miles

Enjoy an introduction to geocaching with a short ride to find hidden treasures in Aurora.  The course is mostly flat on hard-surface trails or on-street bike lanes.  Learn more about the sport of geocaching by clicking here.  

Saturday, August 8th, 9am, Quincy Reservoir "Fat Tire" - 22 miles

This ride includes several sections on soft surfaces and wider tires (35mm or 1.5 inch) are strongly recommended.

Saturday, August 15th, 9am, Art in Public Places - 15 miles

Join us to explore some of the outdoor art in Aurora.  Ms. Jane McGrath from the Art in Public Places Commission will provide background information on the installations and we'll ride between the each site.  Note: this ride starts and ends in front of the Aurora Municipal Courthouse, 14999 E. Alameda Parkway.  Click here for a map.  

Saturday, August 22nd, 9am, Sulphur Gulch - 25 miles

Ride along Cherry Creek Trail and then eastward into Parker on the Sulphur Gulch Trail.  Note: this ride meets at Cornerstar in the parking lot just east of Panera Bread.  Click here for the location.

Thursday evening rides!  6pm at Peak to Peak Taproom

Stop by Peak to Peak Taproom (adjacent to Treads) for a relaxing evening ride.  These are "show and go" rides with no designated ride leader or route.  There are several nearby trails to be explored and afterwards Joy and Gordon Mckennon invite you to enjoy refreshments with $1 off your first pint.  Click to visit the Peak to Peak website. 

Neil Hanson Slide Show and Book Signing - Thursday, July 16th, 5:30pm and 8pm - at Peak to Peak Taproom.

Local author Neil Hanson will be at Peak to Peak and Treads to present his latest book Pilgrim Wheels: Reflections of a Cyclist Crossing America and share images from his journey.  Click here to visit Neil's website.
